New Study Could Help Reduce Infant Reaction During Vaccinations

The CBC.ca has posted a new study out of Britain that says the use of longer wider needles can significantly reduce vaccination reactions at 4 months of age. For anyone who has had to take their child to get vaccinated this is great news. I wonder if it can help with the crankiness that goes with vaccinations as well!? In the U.K., recommendations call for wide, long needles to be used to help deliver the vaccine to the target muscle, but many doctors continue to use narrow, short needles for the injections. I wonder if there is a cost issue and the longer needles are more expensive. Maybe that is why they continue to use the shorter needles. As long at they get it all sorted out by November when our son needs his next needle.
