Busy Philipps Welcomes Baby Girl

Congratulations to Busy Philipps and husband, Marc Silverstein, on safe arrival of their first baby - a girl.

Birdie Leigh Silverstein was born today and weighed in at 9 lbs., 7 oz. She was 21 ½ inches long.

The new mom told PEOPLE that she loved being pregnant – and the perks that came along with it.

"I wanted strawberry milkshakes like nobody's business," said the former Dawson's Creek actress in April, adding that she planned to work hard to lose the weight after the baby was born.

"I'll make it happen," she said. "I'm not just gonna say it all fell off from breastfeeding!"
