Woman Gives Birth At 66
An Austrian woman had her second child when aged 66 after becoming a first-time mother at 61.
According to media reports the pregnancy was made possible by artificial insemination that had been performed abroad. The hospital released no further information on the patient.
Austria’s oldest mother is also one of the oldest women worldwide to have given birth to a healthy child.
In December 2006 a 67-year-old woman from Spain became the world’s oldest mother.A spokeswoman at the hospital in southern Austria where the birth took place said that mother and child were doing fine.
Congratulations to this women for being about to carry a baby to term at 67, but what happens when the poor kid is 15 and his mom is 82. Do they live together in the old age home?
Women need to consider what the future will be like for a child who's parents aren't able to do things that young parents can do. These little monkeys use a lot of energy and parents who are MUCH older than their children will not, at some point, have the the energy to keep up with their kids.
There is a reason why there is a cut off age for fertility. The clinic should have considered all of this before performing any procedures on this mom!
