Community Supports Father Who Lost Wife During Delivery
A community has rallied around a dad who lost his wife last month while she was delivering the couples triplets.
Tina Marie Hagenbuch had experienced an uneventful pregnancy, but the week before her death, she was diagnosed with pregnancy-induced hypertension and put on bed rest.
The babies, named Teegan, Trinity and Rowan, are doing fine and still at the hospital. They're breathing on their own, eating and able to be held by their father. On the morning of delivery day, Tina had been feeling short of breath and doctors thought it best to deliver the babies, which was done by Cesarean section at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
After the first child was taken, however, she lost consciousness and never recovered.
What surprises me is that this is the second occurrence of a mom not making it through birth have reported on lately. The Comstock Township municipal offices, where Tina Hagenbuch worked for years as an administrative assistant to the supervisor, is still accepting donations like diapers, baby wipes and clothing for the two girls and a boy.
Township Clerk Anna Goodsell said they've had 15 to 20 people donate diapers and other items.
What is even more unusual is that both dads were left with triplets to care for.
I hope that relatives are able to help with the care. These are the families that need the donations.
